A small deficit, owed to the US at Sherwood Crossing, exists in the Souris River Basin. WSA will be initiating a release of 0.5 m3/s (17 ft3/s) today APRIL 15 from Grant Devine Dam. It is anticipated this release will run for approximately 5 days.
WSA want to take advantage of the recent snowfall and any runoff that may be generated, but also keep the flow low to not create any downstream issues.
The town is aware of the water clarity issues some residents have been experiencing. We have determined the problem and are actively working to fix the issue. We will be flushing hydrants in town to try and alleviate this issue in the short term. Please note that water samples are sent in regularly as per town water permit and deemed safe. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
